Shiny Happy CD Audio Books

CD audio books are still managing to keep their own place in the global market. Even though MP3 files and players are the new thing, the compact disc is still widely used. In the argument of CD versus book on tape there is no comparison for ease of use, copying and protecting your investment. The compact disc has enough advantages it eclipses tapes completely.

There is nothing more irritating than to be in the middle of a story and having to switch out tapes. To add insult to injury is having to stop, go looking for the tape only to find it has come up missing. Even worse than that is to find the tape only to discover it is not playable. CD audio books navigate around these problems by being more condensed. It is also harder to ruin a compact disc than it is a tape.

Compact discs can also be downloaded to a computer to be transferred to an Ipod or MP3 player. This allow for ease of use. The disc is placed into the player, the files are transferred to a created folder and then the book can be listened to or downloaded to another means of play. It also provides a back up in case the compact disc is ever damaged.

There is another reason why CD audio books are so popular. The quality of sound is a vast improvement over tape. The background noise is eliminated greatly and there is no distortion of the speaker's voice. If a publishing company pays good money to an actor or actress with a very distinct voice, this is an important facet to making the audio book popular and selling lots of copies.

Until there is a more popular format that offers affordability, ease of use, and practicality, the compact disc is going to be the preferred format for audio books. The prices are reasonable, though they are higher than their print version, and they have proven to be durable. Finding CD audio books is very easy as large book store chains and even grocery stores often carry an assorted collection.

CD audio books are still quite popular. Not everyone can afford an MP3 player or they may not have a computer. Compact disc players are very affordable and many can be picked up for under ten dollars in many retail stores. Eventually the CD will become a thing of history or collectors. It will join the record, the 8 track player and the cassette but until then you can still listen to your favorite stories.
